This great radio was one of the first added to our collection. The case looked as though the radio had fallen from the back of a moving truck and we were certain that it wasn't going to be an easy fix. We had no knowledge about the mechanics of the phonograph, but when we picked the radio up, we were told by the seller that the best thing to do with the record player was throw it into Lake Ontario and replace it with something more modern. After a little bit of research, we were amazed to read about the history of Philco and about the 'Beam of Light' phonograph.
